Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently organized the Vinod Mankad Trophy Under-19 cricket tournament, where young talents from across the country showcased their skills. Among the standout performers was Luv Tiwari from Chhattisgarh, who scored three consecutive centuries for his state team. His consistent performances have earned him selection in the India Under-19 (D) team.
The India U-19 (D) team will now participate in the upcoming Challenger Trophy, where four squads—India U-19 A, B, C, and D—will compete against each other. Following this tournament, the final India Under-19 team will be announced. The selected players will then represent the country in the ICC Under-19 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in January.
Luv Tiwari, a resident of Rajnandgaon, is the son of cricket coach Manoj Tiwari. Having represented his school, city, district, and the Chhattisgarh Under-19 side, Luv has built a reputation as a dependable top-order batsman. His consistent run of performances at every level has contributed to his rapid rise in junior cricket.
Speaking about his achievement, Laxman Lohiya, media in-charge of the District Cricket Association, said that Luv’s selection is the result of his discipline, dedication, and consistent match-winning performances. He further added that the young cricketer’s success has brought pride not only to Rajnandgaon but to the entire state of Chhattisgarh.
With the Challenger Trophy set to begin soon, all eyes will be on Luv Tiwari as he looks to continue his fine form. A strong showing could secure him a place in the final India Under-19 squad and an opportunity to represent the nation on the world stage in Sri Lanka.
