Dr. Ashmita Chakraborty: A Literary Prodigy’s Journey to Success

At just 18 years old, Dr. Ashmita Chakraborty has achieved the unthinkable, becoming the youngest recipient of a Doctorate Honour in Literature. Born on February 23, 2006, in Siliguri, India, Ashmita’s literary journey began at the age of 9, when she wrote her first poem, “Who Are You?”

Despite facing personal struggles with depression and loneliness, Ashmita found solace in writing. Her determination and perseverance ultimately led her to overcome the challenges she faced. By the time she was 16, Ashmita had published six books across a range of genres, including visions/reality, friendship, romance, heartbreak, comedy-horror, and student guides.

Ashmita’s contributions to literature have been recognized through the conferment of the title “Author” and “Dr.” (in literature). She has received numerous awards, including the Bharat Vibhushan and Desh Ratna awards. Her work has also been featured in several anthologies and magazines.
